Link Snacks Launches Link Conservation Program to Protect the Outdoors for Future Generations
Minong, WI, April 22, 2026, Link Snacks, the global leader in real meat protein snacks and maker of brands including Jack Link’s and Lorissa’s Organics, today announced The Link Conservation Program, a long-term land conservation and forest carbon initiative focused on protecting forests, supporting wildlife, and taking real action on climate.
The program sequesters nearly 50,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide through a certified forest management program, as well as protects and actively manages 17,400 acres of privately owned forestland across the United States. This protects the land from development while preserving diverse habitats and enhancing forest health, wildlife ecosystems, and carbon storage.
“We have a deep appreciation and love for the outdoors, it’s part of who we are,” said Troy Link, CEO of Link Snacks. “This is real land and real forests that have sustained us for generations. The Link Conservation Program is about protecting those places, preserving them for the future, and inspiring more people to step outside, explore, and build their own connection to the land.”
Rather than buying offsets, Link Snacks invests in forest lands, managing them with methods validated by the BCarbon Protocol, so the trees do what they’ve always done best: pull carbon from the air and store it naturally.
According to current forest management plans, the Conservation Program is projected to sequester approximately 48,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e) annually. Once fully established, the program will sequester carbon equivalent to roughly 81% of Link Snacks annual Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, representing an estimated 48,000 metric tons of CO₂ each year.
And beyond climate impact, the Conservation Program protects wildlife habitat, clean water, and healthy forests across diverse landscapes, from southern cypress forests to northern pine and maple forests. Each property follows a science‑based forest management plan to improve forest health over time. The program is independently verified, certified, and backed by a commitment to transparently track and share results.
Rooted in the Link family’s passion for the outdoors, the Link Conservation Program reinforces the company’s belief that strong businesses and healthy ecosystems go hand in hand.
